Along with this, the Company implements programs aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, implementing youth policy, providing assistance to vulnerable segments of the population, poor citizens, and others through corporate volunteerism and assistance to local communities.
Since 2020, the Company has been actively promoting ESG principles in the field of social responsibility to society through the implementation of volunteer actions. Since 2020, more than 6 thousand events have been implemented, and in 2023 more than 1 thousand.
For the systematic development of the volunteer movement, the Corporate Volunteer School project was launched in 2023, which brought together Company employees from all over the country. Panel sessions were held for 120 participants with representatives of the Center for Social Interaction and Communications, the Samruk-Kazyna Trust and the Social Projects Foundation, as well as training seminars from leaders of the volunteer movement in Kazakhstan.
The annual competition "Corporate Volunteer of the Year" has also been organized in 5 nominations among employees of the NC KTZ Group of companies.
In total, over 30 thousand man-hours were devoted to volunteer work by employees in 2024.
In 2024, in response to appeals from more than 45 employees of the group of companies JSC NC KTZ on financial support in connection with illnesses, accidents and other circumstances, organized fundraising through corporate mailings and publication of articles in the newspaper "Kazakhstan Temirzholshysy" with an appeal for voluntary donations from other employees of the Company. These measures have allowed us to raise a significant amount of funds to help employees in need.

In 2024, the Company made a significant contribution to combating the effects of floods. JSC NC KTZ allocated 2 billion tenge to provide assistance to regions affected by floods.
The Company's trains transported 12,000 flood victims, military personnel, volunteers and rescuers, of which 8.9 thousand passengers were taken out of flood zones by passenger cars, and 540 children were sent to health centers and children's camps. More than 2.6 thousand personnel of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the National Guard were delivered to carry out emergency rescue operations.
1 thousand units of heavy machinery, 1.5 thousand tons of rubble stone, 5.6 thousand tons of crushed stone were transported to eliminate the emergency situation. 45 anti-flushing and 47 fire fighting trains have been formed. More than 9.9 thousand cubic meters of meltwater were pumped out by KTZ special trains.
Over 23,000 railway workers have been mobilized to fight the elements. 930 railway volunteers are involved. 2.6 tons of humanitarian aid have been collected.

To maintain the ecosystem after the fires in the Southern Balkhash region, OTLK EPA (a joint venture of KTZ, Russian Railways and Belarusian Railways) is implementing a project to restore tugai forests in Kazakhstan
As part of the initiative, more than 39,700 trees have been planted in the country from 2022 to 2024, with a total area of 14 hectares. 15,000 trees will be planted in 2025.
Tugai forests are a vital biotope for Bukhara deer and other ungulates. In addition, such forests are a natural water regulator.
As part of the development of a culture of respect for nature and the environment, in 2025 the Company is implementing an initiative to plant 120,000 seedlings of poplar, acacia, ailanthus and elm trees throughout Kazakhstan.
The direct planting of seedlings is carried out by employees of the KTZ group of companies. This initiative is supported by the railway workers of the republican movement “Clean Kazakhstan”.
