Train driver prevented a collision with cars

On October 22, 2025, at 4:27 p.m., on the Astana-Yereymentau railway section, on the Yedyge-Yereymentau section, the driver of a passenger train moving at 108 km/h applied emergency braking at a controlled, unguarded railroad crossing.

The accident was caused by three cars suddenly driving onto the tracks in front of the moving train. Thanks to the professional and prompt actions of the locomotive crew, the collision was prevented.

The offenders fled the scene. The train continued on its route, seven minutes late. Information about the violation has been reported to law enforcement agencies.

The cause of the incident was the drivers' violation of traffic regulations.
