KTZ and RIKEN KOGYO Inc. agreed to cooperate on security issues

During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Japan, representatives of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, led by Saken Rakhmetov, Managing Director for Infrastructure and Director of the Main Line Directorate branch, held a working meeting with the Japanese company RIKEN KOGYO Inc. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed.

The document provides for a survey of the Koktuma –  16 railway siding. RIKEN KOGYO specialists will study the natural and climatic conditions and then propose technical solutions for installing protective barriers. The problem of wind and snow drifts on this section has remained unsolved for approximately 30 years, so the company is proposing a technological approach. These measures are aimed at reducing the impact of wind and snow drifts on train traffic.

This cooperation will leverage the expertise of Japanese specialists in developing railway infrastructure and improving transportation safety.

A KTZ delegation also participated in the "Central Asia + Japan" Summit and Business Forum in Tokyo. Meetings with international partners on further cooperation were held during the events.
