Railway workers have stepped up preventive work at crossings
29-05-2025
Over the first four months of 2025, 11 road accidents were recorded at railway crossings. This is 20% more than in the same period last year. The situation is particularly alarming in the southern regions - the number of accidents has increased from 4 to 5.
The main cause of accidents is violation of traffic rules by car drivers.
In order to improve safety at crossings and prevent accidents, railway workers, together with the police, conducted 565 preventive raids. During the events, 59 violations of the rules for crossing railway crossings were identified.
Particular attention is paid to informing drivers: since the beginning of the year, 30,749 motorists have been familiarized with the rules of safe behavior at crossings. Preventive work also covered 274 motor transport enterprises, where 6,501 employees were instructed.
To improve visibility at railway crossings, work was carried out at 25 sites. In addition, 145 information posters and slogans were placed, calling for compliance with traffic rules and being careful when crossing railway tracks.
KTZ calls on drivers to strictly comply with traffic rules and remember that a railway crossing is a high-risk area. Each violation can cost lives.
