Railway repairs in Kazakhstan are on schedule

The large-scale track repair works on the KTZ network that started in March are going according to plan. This year, it is planned to renew 1,480 kilometers of the main line.

The railway workers' schedule includes major, enhanced medium and medium track repairs, replacement of turnouts, continuous replacement of rail supports and gauge, as well as other activities aimed at ensuring the safety and reliability of transportation. The work is carried out using special track equipment: Duomatic, Unimat MF, aligning and tamping machines, rail grinding trains, etc.

Today, capital repairs, the most complex and labor-intensive process, cover several sections within the boundaries of the Pavlodar, Almaty, Zhambyl, Aktobe, Atyrau and Mangistau branches of the main line network. Here, track workers are dismantling the old track grid and laying a new one. In total, 512.7 kilometers will be overhauled in Kazakhstan this year.

In total, KTZ will modernize 11 thousand kilometers of railways by 2029. Over 2800 kilometers of the planned volume of railway have already been repaired (in 2023 - 1443 km; in 2024 - 1430 km).
