KTZ: strategic documents signed at the 1st Kazakhstan-China Transport Forum

The 1st Kazakhstan-China Transport Forum was held in Astana, where NC KTZ JSC took an active part.
During the event, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Logistics of NC KTZ JSC Yerlan Koishibayev noted that the dynamics of rail transportation between the two countries shows steady positive growth.
According to the results of 2024, the volume of transportation between Kazakhstan and China increased by 13% compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 32 million tons, which became a historical maximum. Over 10 years, due to active interaction with Chinese Railways, freight transportation has increased by 4.5 times.
Currently, such major projects are being implemented as: the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk-Moiynty railway section, a railway line bypassing the territory of Almaty, the Darbaza-Maktaaral, Bakhty-Ayagoz railway lines - a total of 1,300 km of new railway tracks.
The Trans-Caspian Transport Route, which is of strategic importance for the economies of Kazakhstan and China, is developing. According to the results of 2024, 358 container trains ran along it from China, showing a 33-fold increase by 2023.
It was announced that KTZ, together with partners from China, is actively building new and developing existing terminals in key regions of Kazakhstan and abroad - the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the port of Lianyungang (PRC); the largest
Dry Port in Central Asia KTZE-Khorgos Gateway; terminal in Xi'an (PRC), which was officially opened with the participation of the Head of State.
It is also planned to build an intermodal terminal in the port of Alyat (Azerbaijan). The commissioning of a logistics center in Almaty (GTS-2) is being prepared. In addition, work is underway with Chinese partners on projects in Selyatino (RF) and at the Svisloch station (Belarus).
In addition, at the Forum, the heads of Port Kuryk LLP (a subsidiary of NC KTZ JSC) and Qingdao Port International (PRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. And representatives of KTZ Express discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation with leading Chinese companies in the field of logistics and infrastructure, including the port of Lianyungang, COSCO Shipping Group and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC).
These initiatives are aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's position as a strategic transit hub of Eurasia and the formation of a modern, sustainable logistics infrastructure that meets the requirements of international trade.
