KTZ to completely renew its passenger car fleet by 2030

KTZ plans to completely renew its passenger car fleet by 2030. As part of the large-scale modernization program, it is planned to supply 557 modern cars manufactured by Stadler. The first 51 cars will arrive before the end of this year.

The renewal as well will take place at the expense of domestic production. This year, KTZ will set 107 new cars manufactured at a plant in Petropavlovsk. Two electric trains consisting of 18 cars have already been put into operation on the Astana-Borovoye Resort and

Astana-Karaganda routes. Another train is expected to be delivered in the near future. An agreement will also be concluded with a domestic manufacturer for the purchase of another 350 cars with a delivery date of up to 2027.

Today, the rolling stock fleet of KTZ consists of 2,167 units, including 732 Talgo type cars, 1,321 standard cars and 114 railcar units.
