Kazakhstan is carrying out a large-scale modernization of the railway network

To increase the network capacity, KTZ has begun modernizing the Altynkol - Zhetygen section (293 km), introducing an automatic blocking system on the Kyzylzhar - Saksaulskaya (712 km), Kandyagash - Tobol (653 km), Aksu-1 - Zhana-Semey (352 km) sections.

The projects are being implemented as part of the execution of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev on the accelerated development of the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor.

In a short time, 230 units of equipment and 363 workers were mobilized. Along with the introduction of a modern train traffic control system, new sidings are being built on the sections and track development of existing stations is underway.

More than 1 million cubic meters of roadbed have been filled for new sidings, which is 30% of the total volume of work. Earthworks have already been completed at 10 out of 48 separate points.

The laying of the track superstructure has begun. The first turnout has been laid at the May station of the Aksu - Zhana-Semey section and the laying of the track grid is underway at the Nurly station of the Altynkol - Zhetygen section.

Also, the reconstruction of the culverts is in full swing on the Altynkol - Zhetygen section. Work is being carried out simultaneously on 15 structures, of which 3 pipes are already ready.
