Heroes of the Railway — on the KTZ LED screen

On the eve of the Day of Railway Workers, a video clip “Heroes Among Us” was presented on the LED screen of the administrative building of JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”. It tells about 30 railway workers who showed themselves in critical and non-standard situations. These workers demonstrated high professionalism, responsibility and discipline, promptly preventing incidents that could have led to serious consequences for the transportation process.

The video reflects the real stories of employees who, thanks to their quick response, knowledge and dedication, prevented emergencies, accidents, fires, crashes, provided first aid to passengers, promptly identified technical malfunctions, eliminated the threat of flooding and even helped deliver a baby en route. They proved that real heroes are nearby, among us, in the workplace, daily ensuring the smooth operation of the railway industry.

Among them is the head of the PTO of wagons of the Astana operational wagon depot, Edige Makhanov, who identified a crack in the bogie of a freight wagon and prevented a possible derailment. Nikolai Tverdokhleb, an inspector and repairman of wagons at the Presnogorkovskaya station, promptly discovered a similar defect. Marat Abyzov, an electric locomotive driver at the Zhambyl branch, responded promptly and correctly, thanks to which a collision between a passenger train and a tractor at the crossing did not occur. Otar Batyrkhan Atamyrza, a signalman at the station, noticed a malfunction of a wagon while it was moving and ensured an emergency stop of the train. Amangeldy Chalabayev, an instructor driver at the Almaty branch, discovered a crack in the wheel pair rim and a derailment did not occur. Isa Makhambetov, a diesel locomotive driver at the Mangistau branch, stopped the movement of wagons after seeing that safety regulations were being violated. The duty officer of the Kyzylorda branch station, Zhandos Zhumagazy, detected a gas leak from a tank and prevented an emergency. The duty officer of the Aktobe branch station, Asiya Ilyasova, promptly reported smoke, thanks to which the building did not catch fire. The driver of the Kostanay branch diesel locomotive, Abay Ibrayev, applied emergency braking and prevented a safety violation. Sapargali Kurbanov, an electrician of the Aktobe signaling and communication department, discovered a break in the rail, which could have caused a derailment. Seitzhan Kasenov, a track foreman of the Dostyk track department, discovered a malfunction of the wheelset. Zhaksybek Sharipov, a track foreman of the Shymkent track department, discovered a malfunction of the turnout in time. Bakhtiyar Zhomartov, a track fitter of the Altynkol track department, discovered a break in the rail, preventing a derailment. The conductor of the passenger carriage of the Express branch Altynai Gafiullina provided assistance during the birth of a passenger. The conductor of the same branch Kuatbek Dauylbaev provided first aid to a nine-year-old child and saved his life.
