Experts discussed the issues of updating the Agreement on the Unified Transit Tariff

A meeting of representatives of the Parties to the Agreement on the Unified Transit Tariff (UTT) was held in Almaty, dedicated to the issues of improving and updating the provisions of the Agreement.

The event was chaired by the head of the OSJD Commission on Freight Transportation, representative of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zubaida Aspayeva. Deputy General Director for Marketing and Planning of KTZ - Freight Transportation LLC Salamat Abzhaliyev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted the importance of discussing issues aimed at increasing the competitiveness of rail freight transportation in the Eurasian space and the efficient use of the potential of rail transport.

During the meeting, the results of the XXXVIII meeting of the Conference of General Directors (Authorized Representatives) of OSJD Railways, the progress of implementing the decisions of previous meetings on the UTT, proposals for amendments and additions to the text of the Agreement, and updating the Unified Transit Tariff were considered.

The discussion took place in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere. Particular attention was paid to the coordinating role of OSJD in the process of making key decisions aimed at developing international rail traffic.
