East Kazakhstan Railways monitored coal availability at the region's coal sidings

17-10-2025

With the onset of the heating season, railway workers are monitoring the region's supply of municipal coal.

During the inspection, specialists visited the Degelen station, where coal is loaded. Here, the company loads an average of 280 cars against a daily requirement of 350. Fifteen cars are dispatched daily to the coal sidings of Seikom LLC and Terminal Fuel Company LLC in the direction of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

According to the plan, Karazhyra JSC is scheduled to load 10,525 cars (726,200 tons) across Kazakhstan in October. In the first 15 days of October, 1,944 gondola cars (134,600 tons) were loaded onto the East Kazakhstan region, including 561 gondola cars (38,900 tons) of municipal coal.

Mansur Bekbauov, Director of Terminal Fuel Company LLP (Ust-Kamenogorsk), noted that coal deliveries are stable.

"Over 8,000 tons of the monthly plan has already been delivered to our siding. The cars are moving, and I think there will be no problems supplying the population," he said.

The company sells coal to residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk's left bank and surrounding areas, as well as to Aytas LLP, which supplies heat to the village of Molodezhny and a poultry farm.

Dauren Aituganov, Deputy Station Manager at Novo-Ust-Kamenogorsk Station, noted that the loading and unloading of coal cars is carried out in a timely manner.

"When coal arrives at the station, we promptly reload it onto the sidings. JSC Karazhyra reported that deliveries will be increased starting next week," he explained.
Nikolai Kondratyev, Director of TOO Seikom, reported that between 5 and 12 cars arrive daily at their coal siding.

"In addition to municipal coal, we also supply industrial enterprises—oil plants, elevators, and brick factories—with coal. They purchase the fuel year-round. On average, about 30% of deliveries go to the industrial sector," he noted.

According to him, between 50 and 220 vehicles pass through the coal siding daily, depending on the volume of deliveries.

Talgat Ziyadanov, Deputy Head of the Oskemen-1 Station, reported that this year the number of sites in Ust-Kamenogorsk selling solid fuel from Karazhyra JSC and the Pavlodar Coal Mine has increased.

"We are the final destination for consumption. All shippers' orders are fulfilled in full, and railcars are delivered and removed without delay," he noted.

It was noted that the railcar fleet for transporting solid fuel is fully stocked, with a surplus of rolling stock on certain routes. The main request from the coal siding management is addressed to the coal mining company Karazhyra JSC: to increase supply volumes.

Railway operators are monitoring coal supply in the regions across the country.

KTZ ensures timely railcar delivery and collaborates with coal companies to consistently meet the needs of the public utilities sector and businesses during the heating season.
