The 82nd meeting of the Council for Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States was held in Dushanbe

The 82nd meeting of the Council for Railway Transport of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).

The meeting was attended by the heads of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the administrations of Georgia, Iran, Latvia and Estonia.

NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC was represented at the meeting by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Talgat Aldybergenov. 

The meeting summed up the results of the railway industry for the first quarter of 2025. 387.2 million tons of cargo were transported along the railway network of the Commonwealth member states. Cargo turnover increased by 1.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

Container transportation exceeded the planned figures by 8.3% and the level of the first quarter of 2024 by 5.6%. The average daily working fleet of freight cars amounted to 1.4 million units.

Positive dynamics are also observed in international passenger transportation: passenger turnover increased by 17%, the number of passengers carried reached 2.3 million people, which is 16% higher than the same figure last year.

The next, Eighty-third meeting of the Council will be held in November 2025 in Baku (Azerbaijan Republic).
