48 km of railway to undergo major repairs in Kyzylorda region

This year, the Kyzylorda branch of the main network will undergo major repairs of 48.6 km of railway track, with a complete replacement of the rail and sleeper grid. The work will be carried out on the sections Karaketken - Karairim, Shieli - Akmaya railway - Ekpindi railway, Zhalagash - Terenozek, Ekpindi - Tomenaryk railway, Tomenaryk - Bortesken railway, Kazaly-Bekbaul. Intensive medium track repairs will cover more than 5 km at Zhalagash and Belkol stations.

Also, with the help of track equipment, railway workers will clean contaminated ballast on 24.2 km. They will lay 50 new sets of turnouts. Using self-propelled rail welding machines and aluminothermic welding, defective areas will be eliminated and the integrity of the rail strings will be restored.

In addition to repair work on the tracks, railway workers will build 111 km and repair 146 km of cattle fences within the boundaries of the Kyzylorda branch of the main network.
