Railwaymen of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Iran discussed increasing transportation volumes along the North-South route

A two-day meeting of representatives of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, Russian Railways and the Turkmendemiryollary Agency has ended in Almaty. 

The discussion summed up the results of cargo transportation across the territory of Kazakhstan via the Bolashak border station. In 2024, the volume of transportation in this direction amounted to 1.6 million tons of cargo.

Particular attention was paid to increasing the attractiveness of the North-South international transport corridor. The meeting discussed favorable end-to-end tariff conditions for transportation across the territories of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to increase the volume of transportation on this route and further strengthen mutual cooperation.
