Zhanaesil and Saumalkol Railway Stations Reopen After Reconstruction

The reconstruction of railway stations at the Zhanaesil and Saumalkol stations has been completed in the North Kazakhstan Region. The modernization of these facilities was carried out in accordance with instructions from the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to upgrade station infrastructure.

During the reconstruction, the station buildings were completely renovated: structural components were reinforced, engineering networks and roofs were replaced, facades were repaired, interior finishing was completed, and passenger platforms were modernized.

The stations are equipped with new furniture and modern facilities.

Special attention was paid to creating a barrier-free environment and ensuring safety. Ramps have been installed for passengers with limited mobility, and tactile paving has been laid for visually impaired individuals. Additionally, the stations are equipped with extra emergency exits in compliance with fire safety regulations.

The Zhanaesil station, commissioned in 1960, serves an average of about 150 passengers per day. Following the reconstruction, the building's floor area increased from 429 to 570 square meters, enhancing passenger comfort.

The Saumalkol station, built in 1966, serves approximately 55 passengers daily. As a result of the reconstruction, the building with a total area of 207 square meters was renovated, creating modern and comfortable conditions for passengers waiting for trains.

The modernization of railway stations aims to improve the quality of passenger service, develop modern transport infrastructure, and ensure safe conditions. Efforts to upgrade station complexes continue across all regions of the country.
