Working and rest conditions for employees improved at Kokshetau locomotive depot

A major overhaul of the turnaround locomotive depot building has been completed at Kokshetau station. The facility includes locomotive maintenance shops, an administrative and amenity complex, and a rest facility for locomotive crews.

Built in 1993, the building has a total area of about 4.3 thousand square meters. Its last major overhaul was conducted over 20 years ago.

The renovation work included:

• Reinforcing foundation blocks;
• Completely renewing the roofing;
• Repairing the building's facade;
• Replacing utility networks and electrical communications;
• Modernizing technological equipment in the workshops;
• Installing a KZh-20 lathe for wheel sets turning;
• Repairing inspection pits for locomotive maintenance.
   

Additionally, the premises of the administrative and amenity building and the locomotive crews' rest facility were renovated, and new furniture was purchased.

The completed overhaul will increase the reliability of locomotive maintenance and improve the working and rest conditions for locomotive crews.
