Two Railway Stations Reconstructed in Aktobe Region

The reconstruction of the Shalkar and Shubarkuduk railway stations has been completed in the Aktobe region.

During the reconstruction, a full complex of construction and installation works was carried out at both sites. The station buildings were updated with new roofs and facades installed, internal engineering networks completely modernized, and interior finishing works along with the landscaping of the surrounding areas completed.The stations are equipped with new furniture and modern equipment. Domestic materials that meet modern requirements for quality, durability, and safety were used in the construction.

The Shalkar railway station, built in 1909, is now a modern two-story building with an area of 833.6 sq. m after reconstruction, whereas its area before reconstruction was 472.8 sq. m. The Class I station serves an average of 1,397 passengers daily. 32 passenger trains pass through the station, providing connections to Almaty, Astana, Aktobe, Atyrau, Oral, Mangistau, Beyneu, Sekseul, Kazaly, Taraz, Shymkent, Turkestan, Shu, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, as well as to Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The Shubarkuduk station, built in 2012, has also been completely updated. Following the reconstruction, the building's area has almost doubled, increasing from 111.2 to 207.32 sq. m. The facility is a modern two-story building with a fiber-cement panel facade and updated interior premises finished using modern materials. The Type 1 station serves 78 people daily. 12 passenger trains run through the station, connecting the settlement with Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Atyrau, Oral, Kostanay, Taraz, Shymkent, Semey, Mangistau, and Beyneu.

The reconstruction of the stations aims to improve the quality of passenger service, create a comfortable and safe environment, and further develop the region's transport infrastructure.
