Transshipment of coiled steel resumed at the Port of Aktau

The seaport of Aktau has resumed the transshipment of coiled steel produced by "Qarmet" JSC. The resumption of deliveries was made possible as part of the Aktau port's ongoing efforts to diversify its cargo base and expand the range of export goods.

To date, around 8,300 tons of metal products have been accumulated on the port's territory. The first vessel batch of 3,000 tons will be shipped in the first decade of July 2026 along the TITR route.

Overall, the declared volume for July 2026 stands at 12,700 tons of steel, with plans to ship approximately 50,000 tons of products by the end of this year.

It is worth noting that previously, between 2008 and 2012, the port of Aktau handled up to 2 million tons of steel annually. Subsequently, the shipments were suspended due to changing foreign market conditions.

The resumption of export deliveries demonstrates the demand for the maritime route to transport domestic metal products. It also contributes to strengthening Kazakhstan's export potential and developing international transport and logistical links along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
