The second stage of modernization has been completed on the Aksu – Zhana-Semey section

As part of the KTZ Infrastructure Modernization Program, the second stage of upgrading the Aksu – Zhana-Semey railway section has been completed.
Seven separate stations and junctions along the 139 km section have been connected to the microprocessor-based centralized control system. Two new passing loops have been put into operation, and new receiving and departure tracks have been built at another passing loop.
The project aims to increase the highway's capacity, boost train speeds, and ensure the reliability of freight transportation.
The modernization of the Aksu – Zhana-Semey section is part of systemic efforts to develop railway infrastructure and strengthen Kazakhstan's transit potential.
To date, the total length of the modernized sections of the main network has reached 1,142 km.
