26-04-2026
Today, during a working visit to the Abay region Talgat Aldybergenov Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" inspected the construction of the railway station in Ayagoz. The facility, which had been in operation since 1930, was deemed unsafe following a technical inspection. A new, modern building is being constructed in its place. The total area of the station will increase from approximately 800 to 1,300 square meters. Passenger traffic is approximately 1,200 people per day.
Talgat Aldybergenov instructed to accelerate the pace of work, ensure the project's deadlines are met, and attract additional necessary labor resources and specialized equipment.
In total, 10 railway stations are being modernized in the Abay region: in the cities of Semey and Ayagoz, as well as at the Aktogay, Degelen, Shar, Ushbiik, Zharma, Aul, Belagash, and Zhalanashkol stations.
Contractors have been tasked with preserving the region's historical character and architectural features. Work is being carried out with an emphasis on comfort and safety: modern waiting rooms and a barrier-free environment with improved navigation for people with disabilities are being created.
