08-05-2026

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, visited Great Patriotic War veteran and railway worker Vasily Grigorash in Pavlodar to express sincere gratitude for his heroic deeds and years of dedicated service.

Vasily Ivanovich was born in 1926 and headed to the front at the age of 17. For his distinguished military service, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War (2nd Class) and the Medal "For the Victory over Japan." He dedicated his entire life to the railway, rising from a locomotive stoker to a locomotive engineer. Having worked for many years at the Pavlodar locomotive depot, he earned the profound respect of his colleagues as a model of professional dedication. The veteran takes special pride in his "One Million Kilometers of Accident-Free Travel" badge.

The company's head emphasized the special importance of intergenerational continuity, respect for veterans, and preserving the memory of those who, through their labor and courage, contributed to Victory Day and the development of the railway industry.

Today, the 100-year-old veteran remains the only participant in the Great Patriotic War who once worked at the Pavlodar locomotive depot.

Vasily Ivanovich thanked the railway workers for their attention and warm words.

Kazakhstan's railway workers remember the heroic deeds of their heroes and continue to uphold the tradition of respect for the older generation.
