Strength in people: KTZ honors leading production workers on professional holiday

31-07-2026

JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" held a solemn celebration for Railway Transport Workers' Day. This holiday unites hundreds of thousands of professionals whose daily, selfless work ensures the economic sovereignty and prosperity of our country.

Yelzhas Otynshiyev, Chairman of the Management Board, addressed the multi-thousand team with warm words of congratulations. He noted that the railway serves as a reliable foundation linking the vast expanses of Kazakhstan together and strengthening the country's prestige on the world stage.

The main event of the celebration was the recognition of the merits of working individuals and a large-scale awarding ceremony for those who devotedly serve their profession. The best railway workers were honored on stage by Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna", Nurlan Sauranbayev, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Elzhas Otynshiyev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "KTZ".

The highest recognition and honor went to those working on the front line: locomotive drivers, track workers, electricians, car mechanics, signalmen, and others. Among the key honors were the highest award—the "Honored Railway Worker" badge, the Medal of Railway Glory III Degree ("III darezheli Temirzhol danky"), the Medal for Courage ("Yerligi ushin"), and the badges of merit "For Honest Work" ("Adal enbegi ushin"), "Best in Profession" ("Kasibi boyinsha uzdik"), and "Best Young Specialist" ("Uzdik zhas maman").

Symbolically, representatives of blue-collar occupations account for more than 70 percent of all award nominees.

In total, over 2,000 employees of the KTZ group of companies will be honored with state and industry awards in the current year of 2026, on the occasion of the professional holiday and the Republic Day national holiday.

Along with individual achievements, the company reviewed the results of the past year and identified industry flagships across fifteen leading operational departments. For the highest achievements in production, financial stability, and traffic safety, the best labor collectives were awarded the "Best Railway Team" ("Uzdik temirzhol uzhymy") traveling banner.

Among the winners who demonstrated the highest results in production, stability, and traffic safety, and who now serve as role models for the entire industry, were the Kyzylorda Trunk Network Branch, the Kulsary Track District (Atyrau Branch), the Kostanay Signaling and Communications District (Kostanay Branch), and others.

A grand concert entirely organized by the creative talents of KTZ employees served as a vibrant and patriotic conclusion to the holiday, proving once again that Kazakhstan's railway workers are not only strong in labor but also rich in talent.
