30-09-2026

The renovation of the Shu railway station, originally built in 1989, has been completed in the Zhambyl Region. The work was carried out as part of the country's railway station modernization program, implemented on the instructions of the Head of State.

During the renovation, the five-story station building was updated, bringing its post-reconstruction area to 8,141.03 square meters. The facade, roof, interior spaces, engineering systems, platform, and station grounds were all modernized. The facade is clad in travertine, while the base is finished with granite tiles produced in Kazakhstan. Windows and aluminum stained-glass structures featuring a "warm" stick system with energy-saving double-glazed windows of Kazakhstani production were installed. Inside, modern non-combustible materials, slatted ceilings with sound insulation, and wear-resistant floor coverings were used. The station is classified as Class 1.

The average daily passenger traffic is about 1,591 people. Forty-eight passenger trains pass through the station, connecting Shu with cities such as Almaty, Astana, Semey, Mangistau, Aktobe, Shymkent, Turkestan, Taraz, Oral, Atyrau, Kostanay, Kokshetau, Kurort-Borovoye, Kyzylorda, Petropavl, and Saryagash, as well as with Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The project was implemented using the own funds of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," and the Akimat of the Zhambyl Region.

The renovation has increased the comfort and safety levels for passengers, improved conditions for railway workers, and modernized the station's infrastructure.
