23-07-2026

The railway station of the Zhetysu station has reopened after reconstruction in the Almaty region.

The station building was built in 1959. During the reconstruction, its area was nearly doubled—from 135.7 to 258.3 square meters. The station is a one-story building that meets modern comfort and safety requirements.

The reconstruction included roof installation, exterior and interior finishing of the building, and the setup of external and internal utility networks for water supply, sewage, heating, and power supply. Work was also carried out to reconstruct the platform, landscape the surrounding area, and install modern furniture.

The Zhetysu station is classified as a Type 3 railway station. Four passenger trains pass through the station daily, providing connections to Almaty, Altynkol, Saryozek, and Kapshagay.

The works were funded by KTZ's own resources as part of implementing the Head of State's instructions, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, the Akimat of the Almaty region, and JSC "Samruk-Kazyna".
