The reconstruction of the railway station at Zhalanashkol station has been completed in the Abai region. The station serves passengers traveling to the Lake Alakol resort zone. During the peak season, the average daily passenger traffic reaches 617 people.

Fourteen passenger trains pass through the station, providing transport links to Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Dostyk, Balkhash, and Aktogay.

The station was originally built in 1958. As part of the reconstruction, the building was updated and brought into compliance with modern safety and comfort requirements.

Key construction and installation works were carried out at the station, including updating the building's structural elements, completing interior and exterior finishes, and installing engineering networks. The passenger platform was also reconstructed, and the surrounding territory was landscaped.

Following the reconstruction, the station has become more convenient for both passengers and workers. More comfortable and safe conditions for passenger service have been established at the facility.

The works were carried out as part of the national railway station modernization program, implemented under the instruction of the Head of State. The project was funded by JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" using its own resources, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna", and the Akimat of the Abai region.
