Reconstruction of the Zhaksy railway station has been completed

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has completed the reconstruction of the Zhaksy railway station. The work was carried out as part of the directives from the Head of State and the Government to develop transport infrastructure, with the support of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

The Zhaksy station is a Class II railway terminal built in 1960. Eight passenger trains pass through the station, connecting Zhaksy with Astana, Almaty, Kostanay, Arkalyk, Semey, Pavlodar, and Mangistau.

During the reconstruction, the building’s total area was increased from 203 to 221.8 square meters (approximately 2,185 to 2,387 square feet). The roof, facade, and interior spaces were completely renovated, and utility networks—including water supply, sewage, heating, electrical, and low-voltage systems—were replaced.

The building has been outfitted with new furniture and equipment, the surrounding grounds have been landscaped, and the passenger platform has been upgraded. Modern, durable, domestically produced building materials were used for the finishing works.

To ensure convenience for passengers with reduced mobility, an outdoor lift was installed, providing barrier-free access to the station terminal.

The modernization of the station will improve the quality of passenger service, provide more comfortable conditions for travelers, and ensure that the facility complies with modern requirements.

The reconstruction was funded entirely by JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy's own resources. In parallel, the company is implementing a large-scale rail infrastructure development program, which includes building new lines, modernizing the main rail network, renewing locomotive and railcar fleets, and implementing modern digital technologies.
