Reconstruction of Tulkibas railway station completed in Turkistan region

The renovated Tulkibas railway station has been opened in the Turkistan region following modernization. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the regional akimat, JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", industry veterans, and local residents.

Within the framework of the project, a complex of construction and installation works has been completed. The tasks included the roof installation, exterior and interior finishing of the building, and the upgrading of engineering utility networks for water supply, sewerage, heating, and power supply. Additionally, the platform and adjacent territory were renovated, and new equipment and furniture were installed. Following the reconstruction, the total area of the building stands at 878.54 square meters. The station is a two-story building without a basement.

All works are being performed in accordance with the approved schedule. The railway station modernization program is being implemented by JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" using its own funds, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna", and local executive bodies.

Special attention has been paid to updating the facade and improving the facility's energy efficiency. The facades are clad with durable fiber cement panels, while the plinth is finished with Kazakhstan-produced granite tiles. Aluminum stained-glass windows utilizing a "warm" post-and-beam system with domestic energy-saving double-glazed units have been installed. Additionally, the roof has been completely renewed using modern materials and thermal insulation.

The interior premises of the station are finished with modern non-combustible materials. Decorative finishes, slatted ceilings with soundproofing, and wear-resistant flooring have been provided, which will create more comfortable conditions for passengers.

The Tulkibas railway station building was constructed in 1916. As a Class 3 station, it serves an average of 312 passengers daily. Thirty passenger trains operate through the station, providing connections to major cities in Kazakhstan—Almaty, Shu, Taraz, Shymkent, Turkistan, Kyzylorda, Kandyagash, Oral, Aktobe, Semey, Atyrau, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Kurort-Borovoye, Astana, Pavlodar, Petropavl, Mangystau, and Beyneu—as well as to Russia and Uzbekistan.

The reconstruction of the Tulkibas station has preserved the historical building while bringing it into compliance with modern transport infrastructure requirements. The project's implementation is aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of services for passengers, creating a comfortable and safe environment, increasing passenger traffic, developing rail transportation, and fostering the further socio-economic development of the region.
