Reconstruction of Dostyk station completed in Zhetysu region

The reconstruction of the railway station at Dostyk station, located on the border with the PRC, has been completed in the Zhetysu region. The station was originally built in 1961. The average daily passenger traffic stands at 158 people. Fourteen passenger trains pass through the station, heading in the directions of Almaty, Aktogay, Balkhash, Karaganda, and Astana.

During the reconstruction, the station building, roof, and engineering networks were updated. Interior and exterior finishes of the premises were completed. The passenger platform was reconstructed, and the surrounding territory was landscaped.

The works were carried out as part of the national railway station modernization program under the instruction of the Head of State.

The project was funded by JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" using its own resources, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna", and the Akimat of the Zhetysu region.

Following the reconstruction, the station meets modern requirements for passenger safety and comfort.
