Railway workers clarify livestock grazing rules for owners

At the Koktobe station in the Pavlodar region, a preventive meeting with livestock owners took place as part of the nationwide "Safe Railway" campaign, conducted by KTZ in line with the "Law and Order" Concept.

Railway workers, together with representatives of the Koktobe village akimat (local administration) and officers from the linear police department, visited homes located near the railway. They explained to residents the rules for grazing animals near railway tracks and the liability for violating them. The main goal of the meeting is to prevent livestock from entering the tracks and to reduce the risk of accidents.

During the first six months of 2026, 74 cases of emergency train braking due to animals on the tracks were registered in the Pavlodar region. Forty-one livestock owners were held administratively liable.

The most problematic areas remain the Aksu – Degelen, Tokibay – Ushkulyn – Akbidayyk, Pavlodar – Ereymentau, and Pavlodar – Kurgamys sections, where cases of stray animals entering the railway tracks are regularly recorded.

Since the beginning of the year, railway workers have familiarized 3,227 livestock owners and community herders with the grazing rules. Another 2,890 people received extracts from Article 559 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.

To prevent animals from entering the tracks, the construction of protective livestock fencing continues in the region. In 2026, there are plans to build 57 km of fencing.

The Pavlodar branch of the trunk railway network urges livestock owners to follow animal grazing rules and prevent them from entering railway tracks. This will help ensure train traffic safety and prevent accidents.
