16-05-2026
A large-scale modernization of railway infrastructure facilities continues across the country. In five regions—Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, and West Kazakhstan regions—work at several stations is entering the final stage.
Twenty facilities are currently in the final stage of construction and will soon be commissioned after a comprehensive upgrade. The modernization of stations in these regions is being carried out in close coordination with local executive bodies and contracting organizations.
The construction and modernization of stations is a complex effort that requires clear coordination among all participants in the process.
The highest level of readiness is recorded in the Akmola region, where five stations are being prepared for commissioning at once. At Makinka, Kurort-Borovoye, Zhaksy, and Shortandy stations, the readiness of the facilities stands at 98%, while at Saryoba station, it has reached 99%.
The modernization of Kokshetau station, the region's largest facility, is also being completed at a rapid pace.
In the North Kazakhstan region, works at Zhanaesil, Tayinsha, and Saumalkol stations are nearing completion, with readiness ranging from 92% to 98%. In the Kostanay region, Amankaragai, Kushmurun, and Tobol stations are in the final phase, with a readiness level of 98%.
In the Kyzylorda region, the final stage of work has been reached at Zhanakorgan, Shieli, Kazaly, and Saksaulsk stations.
In the West Kazakhstan region, Kazakhstan, Semiglaviy Mar, and Shyngyrlau stations are close to completion, with their construction readiness reaching 93–99%. Concurrently, work continues at major junction stations, including Oral and other facilities.
As part of the modernization, station buildings, utility networks, platforms, and adjacent territories are being upgraded. Modern navigation systems are being introduced, and a barrier-free environment is being created for passengers with reduced mobility. Upon completion, passengers will have access to modern waiting areas, improved sanitary facilities, and an infrastructure that meets current transport service standards.
