Rail freight between Kazakhstan and China maintains steady growth
16-04-2026
Since the beginning of 2026, the volume of rail freight between Kazakhstan and China has increased by 9.3%. This growth is driven by expanding infrastructure capacity.
Kazakhstan's freight exports grew by 17%, driven by increases in iron ore, agricultural products, ferrous metals, and petroleum products.
Kazakhstan's transit potential is strengthening. The volume of transit cargo in traffic with China increased by 8%, with the most significant increase in the transportation of cargo from China via Kazakhstan, up by 27%.
The company continues its systematic efforts to expand the country's transport and logistics potential in line with the Head of State's instructions, ensuring the infrastructure is prepared for further growth in transit traffic.
It should be recalled that there is a positive trend in transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. In the first quarter of this year 125 container trains were sent from China via the TITR, which is 34.4% higher than the same period last year.
