Prohibited Items on Trains: What Passengers Need to Know
Passenger Transportation JSC reminds passengers of the list of items prohibited from carriage on rail transport. In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attempting to transport dangerous or prohibited items entails criminal liability.
What is prohibited on the train?
Before commencing a train journey, passengers undergo mandatory security screening at train stations. For security purposes, X-ray television systems, stationary and hand-held metal detectors, and portable detectors are installed at major railway stations. Video surveillance, security, and alarm systems are in operation, and police and security personnel are on duty 24/7.
To improve passenger safety, a video surveillance system is being gradually implemented on trains. 1,350 video cameras are installed in 630 Talgo train cars (24 trains). An additional 92 cameras are installed in 46 restaurant cars and bar cars on 19 routes. Video data is sent to the Situation Center, where specialists conduct prompt analysis and investigate each unusual incident.
The company urges passengers to comply with established rules and to be understanding of the security measures aimed at ensuring comfortable and safe travel.
