Passenger Train Driver Prevents Collision with Five-Year-Old Child

On June 20, 2026, at 15:08, on the Turkestan – Shieli section near the Shornak station, the driver of passenger train No. 7/8 running on the Almaty-2 – Saratov route prevented a collision with a five-year-old child who was on the railway tracks.
The locomotive crew applied emergency braking while traveling at a speed of 70 km/h, successfully avoiding a tragedy.
The train delay amounted to 4 minutes.
This section of the railway is equipped with fencing. The child was in the danger zone without adult supervision.
Thanks to the professionalism and vigilance of the locomotive crew, the accident was prevented.
KTZ urges parents not to leave children unattended near railway tracks and to explain to them the rules of safe behavior at railway transport facilities.
