National Carrier Launches "Women’s Carriage" on International Almaty – Tashkent Route

Starting October 1, 2026, JSC "Passenger Transportation" will introduce the "Women's Carriage" service for the first time on the international train No. 1/2 operating on the Almaty – Tashkent route. This train provides regular rail service between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, connecting the largest cities of the two countries.

"The international Almaty – Tashkent route is vital for developing passenger travel between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Given its popularity and growing passenger traffic, the decision was made to launch a 'Women's Carriage' on this line. This service is also in high demand on domestic rail routes. Since its launch, more than 946,000 passengers have used the 'Women's Carriage' service," noted Anuar Akhmetzhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Passenger Transportation."

Currently, the train operates daily on the following schedule:

• Departure from Almaty station: 07:05 PM
• Arrival at Tashkent station: 12:53 PM (Tashkent time)
• Departure from Tashkent station: 02:41 PM (Tashkent time)
• Arrival at Almaty station: 08:51 AM
   

With the launch of this new carriage, the number of routes offering the "Women's Carriage" service will increase to 14:

• No. 77/78 "Almaty – Mangistau"
• No. 351/352 "Almaty – Mangistau"
• No. 45/46 "Pavlodar – Turkestan"
• No. 37/38 "Mangistau – Semey"
• No. 47/48 "Atyrau – Astana"
• No. 33/34 "Aktobe – Almaty"
• No. 3/4 "Astana – Almaty"
• No. 71/72 "Astana – Shymkent"
• No. 353/354 "Astana – Semey"
• No. 23/24 "Aktobe – Almaty"
• No. 25/26 "Almaty – Shymkent"
• No. 613/614 "Uralsk – Mangistau"
• No. 81/82 "Nurly Zhol – Oral"
• No. 1/2 "Almaty-2 – Tashkent"
   

Boys up to and including seven years old are permitted to travel in the "Women's Carriage" when accompanied by an adult. Tickets for these carriages are sold exclusively to women, and they are staffed solely by female conductors.

Tickets can be purchased at railway ticket offices by informing the cashier of the preference for a "Women's Carriage," or online via the official website bilet.railways.kz. When booking a ticket, passengers should look for the "ЖН" designation, which indicates that the seat belongs to a women's carriage.

Ticket sales open 45 days prior to the train's departure, allowing passengers to plan their trips well in advance.
