23-07-2026
Based on the results of January–June 2026, the volume of freight transportation across the network of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) totaled 157.1 million tons, which is 3.5% higher than in the same period last year. Domestic shipments reached 82.2 million tons, while the volume of export shipments increased by 2.9 million tons compared to the first half of 2025, totaling 45.6 million tons. Stable growth is sustained across major cargo categories.
During the six months, 51.3 million tons of coal were transported, exceeding last year's figure by 4%. Out of this volume, 35.4 million tons were delivered to Kazakhstani consumers (+4%), and another 15.9 million tons were exported (+5%). The growth in grain cargo transportation also continues. Over January–June, 7.3 million tons of grain were transported, representing a 10% increase year-on-year. Grain exports grew by 11% to 5.6 million tons.
High growth rates are driven by the transportation of processed grain products. Exports of milled products reached 1.1 million tons, up 20% compared to the same period last year. Shipments of compound feed surged by 51%, totaling 2 million tons.
Positive dynamics were also recorded for other key cargo types. In the first half of the year, KTZ transported 13.3 million tons of petroleum cargo (+3.7%), 11.6 million tons of iron ore (+15.1%), 10.4 million tons of non-ferrous ore, 9.1 million tons of construction materials, and 8.1 million tons of ferrous metals (+8,8%).
The growth in transportation volumes confirms the steady demand for KTZ's services and the efficiency of the transport and logistics system, which meets domestic market needs and drives the development of export shipments.
