Meeting of the heads of KTZ and Alstom cooperation discussions

Within the framework of the New Silk Way International Forum in Astana, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Yelzhas Otynshiyev held a bilateral meeting with Martan Vaujour, President of the French company Alstom for the Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia regions, to discuss current issues of strategic interaction.

During the negotiations, the parties reviewed in detail the current situation with the supply of traction rolling stock for the needs of the national railway network and assessed the implementation status of the joint long-term investment program aimed at modernizing the service infrastructure in Kazakhstan.

The localization of high-tech electric locomotive production, the implementation of digital automation systems, and the expansion of the service depot network remain key vectors of interaction. Since the beginning of this year, KTZ's locomotive fleet has been significantly replenished with new equipment, including modern electric locomotives manufactured by Alstom. The successful implementation of these programs allows KTZ to gradually reduce the wear of its traction fleet and increase the efficiency of freight transportation along international transport corridors, including the Middle Corridor.
