16-03-2026
The new RWS Wagon carriages will begin operating on March 17 on train №353/354 between Nurly Zhol and Semey, providing passengers with a comfortable ride. The train consists of nine carriages: three compartment carriages, five reserved seat carriages, and one staff carriage, designed to carry over 350 passengers in one direction.
The train operates every other day, departing from Nurly Zhol station at 5:55 PM and from Semey station at 4:45 PM.
Previously, the train operated on this route using carriages built in 1993. The rolling stock has now been updated with modern, next-generation carriages.
The carriages are manufactured in accordance with modern global design, safety, reliability, and comfort standards. The compartments are equipped with ergonomic berths, individual LED lighting, USB ports, and power outlets. Passengers with disabilities are provided with special compartments and spaces for wheelchairs, as well as a conductor call button. The carriages have a service life of up to 40 years.
Over the past two years, JSC Passenger Transportation has purchased 219 RWS Wagon cars (ZIKSTO). The new cars also operate on the following routes: Aktobe - Atyrau, Pavlodar - Turkestan, Pavlodar - Almaty, Kyzylorda - Semey, Almaty - Saratov, Almaty - Oskemen, Astana - Kokshetau, Astana - Borovoye Resort, and Karagandy - Astana.
Fleet renewal is a strategic priority for the National Carrier, as per the instructions of the Head of State. The modernization program plans to completely renew the fleet by 2030.

Technical specifications and capabilities. All RWS Wagon carriages (ZIKSTO LLC) belong to the new 45 series and are equipped with modern equipment to ensure passenger comfort and safety during travel. These modern carriages are adapted for all categories of passengers: people with disabilities, families with children, senior citizens, and international tourists. Barrier-free entry allows wheelchair access without assistance. For families traveling with children, changing tables are available in restrooms that do not have showers. Wi-Fi in the carriages and USB ports located at each seat allow passengers to stay connected and charge electronic devices for study, work, and leisure. Ergonomic handrails at each berth, LED lighting in the vestibules, and individual temperature control in each compartment ensure a comfortable travel experience. Individual safes are also provided for storing passengers' valuables. The carriage interiors are made of eco-friendly, hypoallergenic materials. An air disinfection system reduces the risk of infection. Each staff car is equipped with specialized compartments with increased space and a restroom for passengers with limited mobility. Sliding doors with a push-button control between the vestibule and the passenger compartment save space, reduce noise, and open easily. Sealed inter-carriage passages allow for a constant microclimate and easy movement throughout the train. All cars are temperature-resistant, and vacuum toilets operate even during long stops. Information displays are available in Kazakh, Russian, and English. Bogies ensure a smooth ride.
