From January to September 2026, KTZ transported 5.5 million tons of grain to Central Asian countries, which is 33% more than in the same period last year. 4.1 million tons were shipped to Uzbekistan, showing a 44% growth.
In September, a record 1.5 million tons of grain were transported across the KTZ network, including 701,000 tons to Central Asian countries. During the first 10 days of October, 225,000 tons of grain were sent to the region, exceeding the figure for the same period last year by 5%. Out of this volume, 171,000 tons were directed to Uzbekistan.
To increase capacity, KTZ ensured the passage of up to 40 trains per day through the Saryagash station, modernized the sorting system of the Arys station, and organized the formation of direct trains in 14 directions to Central Asia. Additionally, 500 covered wagons were leased to the Uzbek side to accelerate cargo removal and free up cargo fronts at the Tashkent railway hub.
On October 12–13, a KTZ working group held a series of meetings in Uzbekistan with representatives of JSC "O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari", the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, customs authorities, and consignees. The participants discussed measures to ensure the timely acceptance and unloading of grain cargo.
Furthermore, KTZ held an expanded meeting of the operational grain headquarters, with the participation of shippers and government representatives. Clarifications were provided on all raised issues, and further measures for organizing transportation were agreed upon.
