KTZ hosted a round table with domestic manufacturers

JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" hosted a working meeting in a round-table format titled: "Engaging Domestic Manufacturers in the Procurement of the JSC NC KTZ Group of Companies: Challenges, Mechanisms, and Solutions".

The platform brought together representatives of government agencies, development institutions, specialized associations, and domestic manufacturers to discuss long-term cooperation and the development of local production.

During the round table, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "Kazakhstan Center of Industry and Export "QazIndustry", the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken", Samruk-Kazyna Contract LLP, and QazCloud LLP briefed domestic manufacturers on support mechanisms and tools. Special attention was paid to improving procurement procedures, digital integration, and stimulating local manufacturing to expand business participation in the procurement of the JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" group of companies.

Supporting Kazakhstani enterprises and developing domestic production are key priorities for the JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" group of companies. Increasing the share of in-country value in procurement is viewed not only as compliance with regulatory requirements but also as a strategic contribution to the country's economic stability. This year, 1,029 annual contracts have already been concluded with domestic manufacturers.

Particular focus is placed on sustainable and long-term partnerships. To date, 112 long-term contracts with domestic manufacturers are in effect. Additionally, the off-take contract mechanism, aimed at creating and developing new domestic manufacturing facilities, is being actively applied. Five off-take contracts have been signed this year, alongside four currently active long-term off-take contracts.

During an open dialogue, the participants discussed the main barriers preventing more active involvement of local businesses in procurement processes and identified ways to eliminate them.

Following the round table, the parties agreed to continue joint efforts to improve support measures for domestic manufacturers, enhance conditions for establishing new production lines, and expand the nomenclature of purchased domestic goods.
