KTZ: Flood preparations under special control

As part of the spring preparation plan, a comprehensive inspection of the railway infrastructure's readiness to handle floodwaters is being conducted.

Ruslan Utegenov, Deputy Director for Operations and Safety at the Main Line Directorate, a branch of JSC NC KTZ, is inspecting facilities at the Aktobe branch of the main line. During a working visit to the West Kazakhstan Region, the equipment of anti-washout trains on the PCh-1 Uralsk track was inspected.

Particular attention was paid during the inspection to the technical condition of the artificial structures and their ability to ensure the unimpeded passage of water.

Strengthening cooperation with emergency services was an important stage of preparation. Together with specialists from the Department of Emergency Situations, an inspection of three dams and reservoirs located above the railway line and posing a potential threat to the infrastructure was conducted.

Coordination with local authorities and ongoing monitoring of water bodies help minimize the risk of washouts and ensure the stable operation of the main line.

Infrastructure readiness testing continues as planned.
