13-08-2026
In July, the KTZ locomotive fleet was expanded with 12 new locomotives manufactured by Alstom and CRRC, comprising three electric locomotives and nine shunting diesel locomotives. In total, 146 units of modern traction equipment have been delivered since the beginning of the year.
The new locomotives have been deployed to depots in the northern region. Three electric locomotives manufactured by Electric Locomotive Assembly Plant (EKZ) were delivered to Astana. Nine CRRC-produced shunting diesel locomotives were evenly distributed among the locomotive depots in Pavlodar, Karaganda, and Astana (three units each).
The modernization of the locomotive fleet will improve the reliability and efficiency of train and shunting operations, enhance the technical capabilities of the depots, and upgrade working conditions for locomotive crews.
