KTZ fire train assists in extinguishing fire in Almaty

On July 21, 2026, at 04:30, a fire train from the Almaty station was dispatched to assist in extinguishing a fire at a construction materials warehouse. The blaze broke out on a railway siding in Almaty, at a distance of 250–300 meters from the main railway tracks. There were no casualties.

The fire train refueled two Department of Emergency Situations (DES) fire engines with water, ensuring uninterrupted firefighting operations.

The fire covered an area of 1,500 square meters. A total of 93 personnel and 24 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire has been liquidated. A DES commission is currently establishing the cause of the fire.

The incident did not affect train traffic. No damage was caused to railway infrastructure, signaling, centralization, interlocking, communication, or power supply systems.
