KTZ fire train assists DES in extinguishing steppe fire in North Kazakhstan Region

On September 11, 2026, a fire train from Petropavl station was dispatched to assist units of the Department of Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan Region in liquidating a dry grass fire in the Kyzylzhar district.

The report of the fire on the Petropavl – Zhanaturmys section was received at 21:30. The source of the fire was located 20–30 meters from the railway tracks.

The fire was liquidated over an area of 14 hectares. A total of 153 personnel and 51 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing it. No threat to the railway infrastructure was allowed.

There were no train delays, damage to the railway track, signaling and communication devices, power supply facilities, or any injuries or accidents. The causes of the fire, material damage, and information on salvaged property are being established by a commission.
