KTZ completed the heating season with a 5% increase in coal transportation

The results of coal transportation during the 2025-2026 heating season have been summarized. Thanks to the stable operation of the railway network, supplies were fully secured.

The results of the autumn-winter period and preparations for the next season were discussed at a meeting of the National Headquarters for the Coal Transportation Coordination held at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of representatives of KTZ, akimats, and coal mining companies.

During the heating season, over 76.1 million tons of coal were transported across Kazakhstan, a 5% increase compared to last year. Of this, 69.8 million tons were supplied to combined heat and power plants, and 6.3 million tons to the public utilities sector.

To ensure uninterrupted supplies, approximately 29,000 gondola cars from Kaztemirtrans JSC (a subsidiary of KTZ) were used in the transportation process.

KTZ has already begun preparing its infrastructure for the upcoming autumn-winter period. Repairs and measures to improve the reliability of transportation are underway at key sections where coal is loaded and unloaded en masse.
