The development of partnership between KTZ and Wabtec was discussed ahead of the upcoming Foreign Investors’ Council

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, held a meeting with John Olin, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Wabtec. The meeting took place ahead of the upcoming plenary session of the Foreign Investors’ Council with the participation of the Head of State.

The parties discussed key areas for further cooperation in upgrading the locomotive fleet, developing service infrastructure, localizing production, and implementing digital technologies in rail transport.

Talgat Aldybergenov noted that Wabtec is a strategic partner for KTZ, with whom long-standing cooperation has contributed to increasing the reliability of the locomotive fleet and the efficiency of the transportation process. He emphasized KTZ's interest in expanding collaboration across the entire locomotive lifecycle—ranging from supply and maintenance services to the implementation of innovative solutions, predictive diagnostics technologies, and personnel training.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the localization of component manufacturing in Kazakhstan, the development of modern service facilities, and the application of digital tools for monitoring the technical condition of locomotives.

Following the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their strategic partnership, aimed at improving the efficiency of rail transportation, developing Kazakhstan's transit potential, and implementing joint investment and technological projects.
