Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Tajik Railways Develop Cooperation

During his working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, met with Komil Mirzoali, Head of the SUE Rohi Ohani Tojikiston.

During the talks, the parties noted significant growth in key indicators. By the end of 2025, the total volume of transportation between the countries increased by 15.1%, reaching 5.9 million tons. Exports from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan also increased by 7.6% to 2.6 million tons, including grain, flour, petroleum products, ferrous metals, non-ferrous ore, vegetable oil, and other commodities.

The heads of the railway administrations agreed to continue working to improve the competitiveness of railway routes, strengthen trade and economic ties in the region, further integrate logistics processes, digitalize documentation, and jointly develop transport corridors linking Central Asia with global markets.

It was noted that cooperation between JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and SUE Rohi Ohani Tojikiston is based on long-standing partnerships and is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted transport links between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Following the meeting, a Bilateral Protocol on the results of work for 2025 and plans for 2026 was also signed.

Also during the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Head of State of Tajikistan, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kholikzoda Hakim Khikmatullo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin. During the talks, the parties discussed in detail key aspects of strengthening international cooperation and identified strategic areas for developing the transit and logistics potential of the two countries. Particular attention was paid to the creation of efficient transport corridors and increasing freight traffic volumes, which is intended to provide a powerful impetus to economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
