A working meeting between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and Huang Xiang, Chairman of the Management Board of SPSI Cloud Port Development Co., Ltd. (China), took place in Astana.
During the talks, the parties discussed the implementation of an investment project to build a modern agrologistics hub in Kokshetau, which is being implemented as part of a strategic partnership between Kedentransservice JSC (a subsidiary of KTZ) and the Chinese state-owned holding company SPSI Cloud Port Development.
The project in Kokshetau envisions the creation of a modern logistics complex on a 40-hectare site with a design capacity of over 1 million tons of cargo per year. The initiative plans to develop container, rail, and warehouse infrastructure, ensuring efficient logistics for the agro-industrial complex of Northern Kazakhstan.
The new terminal will provide storage for agricultural products, cargo consolidation, and the formation of container trains for shipment to export markets. The project will create over 500 jobs during the construction phase and approximately 100 permanent jobs after commissioning, and will strengthen the Akmola region's position as one of the country's key agricultural export regions.
Special attention was paid during the meeting to developing logistics cooperation with Sichuan Province (China) and Chengdu, one of the largest economic centers in western China. The possibility of creating a logistics hub is being considered, which will expand export and logistics opportunities between Kazakhstan and the western regions of China.
The parties emphasized that the implementation of joint projects will contribute to the development of sustainable logistics chains and further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
