30-09-2026

On September 30 in Almaty, JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy," with the support of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a roundtable discussion on the topic "Export Potential of Kazakhstan: Containerization – the Path to Global Markets."

The roundtable in Almaty served as a continuation of the consistent work to develop international transport and logistics cooperation initiated during the business forum in Brussels. At that time, with the participation of A.P. Moller – Maersk and leading European companies, key areas of future interaction were outlined, including the expansion of Kazakhstan's export capabilities and the promotion of Kazakhstani products in international markets. The meeting in Almaty further advanced this dialogue, bringing together government agencies, international logistics businesses, and Kazakhstani exporters.

The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, Kazakhstani manufacturers and exporters, as well as representatives of A.P. Moller – Maersk, one of the world leaders in containerized shipping and integrated logistics.

Aybek Kapar, Acting General Director of KTZ Express JSC (a subsidiary of KTZ), and Ayhan Sedef, Managing Director of A.P. Moller – Maersk for the Eastern Mediterranean region, presented joint logistics solutions aimed at expanding opportunities for introducing Kazakhstani products to international markets, including China and Europe.

In his speech, Aybek Kapar noted the consistent development of Kazakhstan's transport and logistics infrastructure, including the expansion of its own maritime fleet, a fleet of fitting platforms, and air cargo transportation, as well as the development of terminal projects in Kazakhstan and abroad at key points of cargo flow generation and distribution.

"As noted by the Head of State, one of the strategic priorities for Kazakhstan is the further development of the country's transit, transport, and logistics potential and strengthening its role as a major international logistics hub. Our task is to create clear, efficient, and competitive logistics solutions for Kazakhstani exporters that allow them to enter new markets. We are consistently developing infrastructure and international partnerships to provide businesses with access to key transport routes and global markets," Aybek Kapar noted.

Representatives of A.P. Moller – Maersk confirmed their interest in the further development of the joint service with KTZ Express JSC. This involves not only the maritime component of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route across the Black Sea but also the expansion of cooperation in other international maritime directions using the global network of A.P. Moller – Maersk.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the needs of Kazakhstani manufacturers and exporters. This format of interaction allows for a direct dialogue between the participants of the export chain—from the manufacturer to the international logistics operator and the end market.

Within the framework of the roundtable, Kazakhstani exporters were able to directly outline current issues and needs related to the delivery of products to foreign markets, while representatives of KTZ Express JSC and A.P. Moller – Maersk discussed practical solutions to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of Kazakhstan's export logistics.
