Kokshetau railway station renovation completed

The renovation of the Kokshetau railway station, originally built in 1981, has been completed in the Akmola Region. The work was carried out as part of the country's railway station modernization program, implemented on the instructions of the Head of State.

The project was implemented using the own funds of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," and the Akimat of the Akmola Region.

During the renovation, the three-story station building, including its basement and technical floors, was updated.

The post-reconstruction area of the building reached 9,345.4 square meters, while the area of the concourse passage totaled 884.85 square meters.

The facade was updated with fiber cement boards, and the interior finishing was completed using durable, fire-safe, and easy-to-clean materials. An escalator, a vertical lift, furniture, and necessary equipment were installed. In addition, engineering networks were modernized, the surrounding grounds were landscaped, and a concourse passage equipped with four passenger elevators was built. Materials manufactured in Kazakhstan were utilized throughout the project. New evacuation routes and doors were organized in compliance with fire safety requirements.

The Kokshetau station is classified as Class 1. Its average daily passenger traffic is about 1,800 people. Thirty-two passenger trains pass through the station, connecting Kokshetau with Astana, Almaty, Petropavl, Kurort-Borovoye, Kostanay, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Oral, Aktobe, Atyrau, Shu, Turkestan, Shymkent, and Taraz, as well as with Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The renovated station will provide passengers with a modern level of comfort, safety, and service accessibility, while also increasing the transport attractiveness of the region.
