04-02-2026

During the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of multimodal transportation was signed between JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (JSC NC KTZ), represented by KTZ Express  JSC, and Pakistan's state-owned logistics company, National Logistics Corporation (NLC).

The signing of the document marks a practical step in developing transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan and is aimed at fostering sustainable freight flows between North-South markets. Potential cargoes on this route include grain and its derivatives, coal, fertilizers, metals, chemicals, and lumber.

This cooperation entails the comprehensive use of the two countries' infrastructure and transit capabilities, as well as the development of multimodal logistics solutions involving various modes of transport, ensuring return loading. This will reduce empty runs, optimize routes, and minimize overall logistics costs.

Overall, the signing of the Memorandum reflects Kazakhstan and Pakistan's commitment to developing a long-term strategic partnership based on the combined infrastructure capabilities and logistics expertise of JSC NC KTZ and NLC.
